Welcome to our virtual Community Mitzvah Day 2021! We may not be able to meet in person this year, but we can still all come together to perform mitzvot as a community. Please enjoy the opening ceremony (2-minute commentary) by Rabbi Nathan Weiner, the President of the Tri-County Board of Jewish Clergy. Our goal this year is to have a minimum of 613 volunteers register their pledge to complete one or more mitzvah projects for Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend. Provided below are some examples of mitzvah projects and organizations that need your help. Please join us from the comfort of your own home to help meet the needs of our community agencies and synagogues.

A message from Rabbi Nathan Weiner, President of the Tri-County Board of Jewish Clergy

Join us in pledging to complete at least one mitzvah for an organization on this site, or of your own choosing, for Community Mitzvah Day 2021!

Samost Jewish Family & Children’s Service

We help Jewish families and the community at large to successfully meet the challenges of daily life by providing quality, affordable, and accessible social services.  The agency is guided by our values of caring for individuals with dignity and respect and helping people to help themselves. You can support our agency this Community Mitzvah Day weekend by either donating food or by purchasing a Soups and Sweets Cookbook. Food needs have increased substantially during this pandemic. Our Betsy & Peter Fischer Food Pantries invite you to donate kosher non-perishable food items directly to our pantry on Monday, January 18, 2021 from 10 AM to 1 PM. The pantry is located 1309 West Route 70, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002 (driveway entrance on Whitman Ave). Our most needed items include boxed milk, cereal, canned tomato products and sauce, canned vegetables, peanut butter, jelly, rice, snacks, canned fruit, and canned fish. Masks are required when dropping off donations. Questions? Please contact Donna Broecker at dbroecker@jfedsnj.org or 856-818-3604. Support our Soups and Sweets culinary training program for individuals with special needs by purchasing a cookbook, while supplies last, at https://jfcssnj.org/cookbook/ Each book is $18 and all proceeds benefit special needs programming. For more information, please contact Terry Howell at thowell@jfedsnj.org or visit us at https://jfcssnj.org/
