The following list is a sample of volunteer opportunities - not a complete list.
Bring friendship and companionship to older adults and homebound individuals through home visits and phone calls.
Provide technical or handyman skills to older adults needing assistance.
Accompany patients to medical appointments, record medical information from the appointment, help make sense of medical jargon and prescriptions, and assist the patient in communicating with the doctor.
Assist with table set-up, meal and beverage service, and clean-up while brightening participants' day.
Volunteer facilitators bring meaningful Jewish experiences to older adults in area senior living centers and rehabilitation facilities who may face difficulty connecting with Jewish life in their place of residence. Residents get to engage with the culture and spirity of Judaism.
Assist the Sanders Memorial Library librarian with putting out for-sale book carts, checking in returned books and Kindles, maintaining the library, and covering new books.
Volunteer as a reading mentor for students in grades K-2. Read one-on-one with students in one of 35 participating elementary schools throughout Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester Counties.
Join a parent committee, host a neighborhood playgroup, or be a guest reader at a playgroup or community event. Grandparents are welcome!

Students participate in hands-on mitzvah projects while learning about our community's needs. They can deliver food for holidays, coordinate and participate in food drives, become friendly visitors, facilitate Shabbat services at residential facilities, and share skills and talents with young adults with special needs and seniors.
Serve as a peer facilitator, providing direct support to individuals with special needs in various sports and fitness programs, including our ACHaD Squadron Basketball team, arts & crafts classes, and other Community Inclusion workshops throughout the year.
Lead classes in art, music, and computers at the TOPS enrichment day program for young adults with disabilities.
Volunteer with a special needs swim team or assist with Junior Maccabi integration.
Training program for young adults with disabilities, you will assist the chef and help them gain the necessary culinary skills to obtain a job in the food service industry.
Coordinate, educate, and organize advocacy efforts among the South Jersey pro-Israel community. IAI serves as a resource for individuals and organizations in our local community on the latest information, trends, issues, and advocacy opportunities supporting Israel.
Engage in goverment affairs to establish and maintain relationships with government officials - both elected and appointed - school administrators and educators, and law enforcement officials.
Assist with museum tours and classroom programming to teach tolderance and the history of the Holocaust.
Be a part of developing Jewish relations with all faith, ethnic and racial groups.
Provide office and fundraising support by helping with mailings, administrative tasks, special events, and engaging with the community to educate and raise funds.
With so many important matters to be discussed and vital decisions to be made, our Jewish community is blessed with many dedicated and experienved volunteers who serve on committees and provide valuable expertise and guidance whenever and wherever it is needed.
Join this dedicated committee to curate a diverse lineup of bestselling authors, incredible work from talented artists, and dynamic entertainers for this annual event. A variety of opportunities to get involved include book sales, book selection, hospitality, etc.
Greet and check-in program attendees, provide directional guidance, and help with set-up and clean-up for special events.
Provide transportation for individuals who are unable to get around on their own, but maintain an independent lifestyle. Assist with driving to medical and other essential appointments.
Volunteers deliver prepackaged, microwaveable kosher meals weekly to seniors and homebound clients. Volunteers are particularly needed to deliver meals to outlying areas such as Vineland, Sewell, Turnersville, and Willingboro.
Volunteer veterans provide homebound veterans with transporation to medical appointments.
Deliver non-perishable groceries to clients in need with little to no access to transportation, or for those who need help with the cost of gas.
Connect with one or more clients to provide necessary personal shopping services, including groceries and other household items.
Deliver Shabbat packages to members of the tri-county Jewish community.
Stock the shelves, sort donations, and pack bags of food at our Betsy & Peter Fischer Food Pantry, located on the west side of Cherry Hill. Volunteers may also deliver groceries to select clients.
Visit various organizations and synagogues to speak on the topic of domestic abuse, following a prepared scripted speech.
Hold your own food drive for our Betsy & Peter Fischer Food Pantry. You can hold a holiday gift drive, collect personal care items for domestic violence clients, or work with our staff to come up with your own special way to make a difference!
Provide free financial advice to victims of domestic abuse. Volunteers must be professionals in the financial field, and be sensisitve to and have knowledge about domestic abuse issues.
We are always looking for kind and caring families to host our visiting emissaries from Israel (Shinshinim and Shlichim) for extended periods of time. Additionally, we encourage families to open their homes and host a Shabbat dinner, a neighborhood playgroup, or other opportunities to gather as a community.
Help maintain the Jewish portion (overseen by the Jewish Community Foundation, Inc.). The cemetery is an important piece of Southern New Jersey Jewish history.
